Drone construction progress monitoring guide
Build a repeatable capture and reporting routine that connects dated site evidence to useful construction progress discussions.
Choose the cadence around milestones.
A weekly flight is only useful if it supports a recurring decision. Align capture with project meetings, work packages and key milestones. Establish comparable viewpoints and zones, and preserve dates so teams do not inadvertently compare unlike areas or stale records.
Give the evidence a consistent structure.
Use the same zone names, photo references and report headings across visits. Explain areas that could not be captured. Link observations to a drawing revision or milestone where appropriate, but do not imply that a photograph alone verifies design compliance.
Keep quantity and progress claims separate.
Visual progress, measured quantities and certified payment progress are not interchangeable. A cut/fill or volume calculation needs validated surfaces and assumptions. A contractual valuation needs the agreed contractual process and responsible professionals.
Make the next action visible.
Each review should answer what changed, what requires investigation and whether a follow-up capture is needed. Use Falcon AI collaboration to discuss the same project data, then keep responsibility for programme and engineering decisions with the authorized project team.
