Drone-in-a-box site readiness checklist

Assess the power, connectivity, operating envelope and response procedures needed before selecting a drone docking installation.

Choose a valuable recurring mission.

Identify the question that requires frequent aerial data: a recurring inspection, site condition check or authorized response task. Compare a dock with a scheduled field service before assuming permanent hardware is justified.

Inspect the physical location.

Assess approach paths, obstructions, weather exposure, power, drainage, security and maintenance access. Keep the launch area clear of people and conflicting activity. Site selection is a technical and operational review, not simply finding an empty roof.

Design for an interrupted mission.

Define what happens when communications degrade, weather changes, a mission is blocked or the aircraft cannot return as planned. Test the escalation path and responsibilities before routine operations. A remote dashboard does not remove the need for an accountable operating team.

Prove the full handover.

A successful test includes dispatch authorization, capture, return, evidence transfer and review. Validate any Falcon AI or incident-system connection using the chosen aircraft and network. Record permissions and limitations; buying a dock is not authorization for BVLOS operations.
